Welcome to
Camuy Health Services, Inc.

Camuy Health Services, Inc. Inc. is a Primary Health Center, also known as “Federally Qualified Health Centers (“FQHC’s”)” or 330 Center for which we receive funding from the federal government through section 330 of the Public Health Service Act (PHSA).

We are a non-profit, community-based corporation that provides primary and preventive health care. For over 38 years, we have served low-income communities with limited medical access, improve and facilitate access to care for thousands of Puerto Ricans regardless of their ability to pay.

Our History

1986

August 28

Incorporation

“Servicios de Salud de Camuy, Inc.”

1987

August 28

Start of operations

Operations begin with 11 employees.

1993

Name Change

The name is changed to “Camuy Health Services, Inc.”

1995

April 1st

Addition of Reforma

Camuy Health Services, Inc. under the health reform, IPA 15

1995 - 1997

Renovation

The Department of Health carried out a remodeling of the center.

2000

October 3rd

Expansion

Camuy Health Services, Inc. acquires the facilities of the Department of Health.

2007

Radio Program

The radio program “Educándote con Camuy Health Services, Inc.” begins, hosted by Attorney Nydia Velázquez. This program is still airing on Radio Once to this day. (17 years)

2010

October 6

Remodeling

$3.7 million are approved for the remodeling of the facilities and the construction of new administrative offices, a multi-level parking structure, installation of solar panels, acquisition and installation of the KWA generator, and the electrical substation.

2015

Behavioral Medicine

The Behavioral Medicine Program begins. Subsequently, the Buprenorphine Program is implemented, and we currently have over 100 patients in the program.

2019

Mobile Unit & "Domino mi Diabetes"

With a contribution of $300k, our mobile unit was acquired. The “Domino mi Diabetes” program was also developed.

2019

Satellite Clinic

The satellite clinic in Quebrada was inaugurated.

2023

Specialized Care

Implementation of the Sonography Clinic and Subspecialist services.

2023

Renewable Energy and Shelters

Strengthening resilience: solar backup batteries and shelters were acquired to ensure continuity of services in case of emergencies.

2024

The Expansion Continues

Approval of a $10M subsidy through the Department of Housing for the construction of additional service facilities.
